Hand Crocheted Granny Square Cardigan Chocolate Brown, Cropped

Every square on this cardigan was made by hand, one round at a time.

Dozens of granny squares in red, orange, mustard, sky blue and olive green are worked separately, then joined by hand on a rich chocolate-brown base. The result is a cardigan with a warm, vintage feel that looks good with jeans, a plain dress or a simple kurta.

The shape is cropped and relaxed, with dropped shoulders and full balloon sleeves that gather into ribbed cuffs. A deep V-neck, a thick ribbed hem and two oversized cream buttons finish the look. The chunky stitches make it cosy, but it's light enough to layer indoors.

No machine made it. Because each piece is made by hand, the colour placement and stitches vary a little from one cardigan to the next. That's part of what makes yours your own.

Care

Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Don't wring it. Press out the water gently and dry it flat in the shade. Don't bleach or tumble dry, and don't hang it to dry, because a wet crochet garment will stretch.
